The Spider-Man: Homecoming Score Sounds Very Familiar

While Spider-Man: Homecoming is a fresh start for the character, beginning anew without any baggage in the MCU, it seems there will something very familiar about this new adventure for ol’ web head. Posting to his Twitter feed, composer Michael Giacchino has shared with us a snippet of his score for the movie, featuring a sweeping bombastic reworking of the classic Spider-Man cartoon theme song, something the previous five movies never even attempted (it only ever appeared as a ringtone or sung by a street performer).

Now, it could be that the composer is having a bit of fun, but given the cheeky tone on display in the movie’s trailers, it’s also quite possible that this actually part of the finished score. And from this brief snippet, it totally works if it is. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go listen to it another 50 times.
